ARIES Case studies

ARIES is currently developing case studies in various regions of the world. Case studies span from project scale, to watershed/regional, to national scale.

In Puget Sound, Washington we are concerned with the mapping of flood protection benefits and beneficiaries as well as benefits associated with the protection of salmon habitat.

In Chittenden county, Vermont, we are assessing the nutrient regulation functions of urban and suburban land covers.

In Romania, two UNDP funded studies provide relevant data on the economic benefits of protected areas

In Madagascar ARIES is being use to provide information on how to best optimize the design of payments for ecosystem services

In Veracruz state, Mexico, ARIES will be tested at the small watershed scale, addressing the flow of hydrological services
